...Just a thought...

If life hands you a lemon, find out where it got its hands.

-- a twisted philosopher

And then there were... um... other things?

Hi all, There hasn't been a lot of activity here in a while, I have been active elsewhere. Sigh. New job, kids have gotten older, new responsibilities... Same reasons, different person. Don't give up, however. I am looking for reasons and ideas to add some more content to the site. Any ideas? Let me know. One idea I have is to add some BLOGs to the site. Let me know if you want to participate!

Welcome to obernet.org.

obernet.org is a bit undefined... but that is a good thing since life is a bit like that.

The overall idea of creating this website is to have a place to try things out, keep in touch with a loose knit group of oddballs and spread some fun. There will be sections of the menu to the left which come and go and others that just keep hanging on.

One section that I hope can find earn a good living is the Forums section. If you have an idea of a forum that you would like to see (and even better if you are willing to help moderate it) then let me know. Very few topics are forbiden but then people can be quite creative...

Registration on the site is not an onerous task and brings with it no unwanted results. I don't sell, trade, give away or otherwise distribute the list. It is there, more or less, to keep you honest. I don't like unattributed remarks, even if the attribution is to a pseudonym.

The only thing that I ask with a certain amount of zeal is to watch your English. I would like you to watch your language too (as in being polite) but please watch your English, as in spelling, grammer and such. Have pride in your ability to communicate and remember that people will only know of you what they read here and how you say it. You are what you write in this sub-world.

That said, welcome and help spread some fun. Please submit news articles that you find interesting and be sure to give proper attribution. The articles that I submit come mostly from the web so I give attributions like "Read the complete story at <news source>". If you don't know how to enter HTML links then put the URL of the story in parens after the news source.  If you still aren't sure, ask me.  Go to the Members List and send me a private message or go to a forum and ask everybody for suggestions.  You decide.

I look forward to your returns and hope you find obernet.org an interesting place to visit. And, as always, tyfsok.
